  • Anjou

The elegantly named Anjou pear is naturally sweet. Light green in colour with a yellow tinge when ripe, it has exceptional keeping qualities. We don’t mean to brag, but all of the Anjou pears grown commercially in Canada come from BC’s orchards.

    Availability: Late September through March.

  • Bartlett

Bartlett pears have clear, yellow skin when ripe. Their flesh is juicy and sweet with a fine-grained, smooth texture. They’re downright delicious on their own and, because they keep their flavour even after heating, they’re a natural for canning.

    Availability: Late August to November.

  • Bosc

This pear both looks and tastes beautiful. It has a naturally occurring russet, giving it a gorgeous golden appearance. And its juicy flesh is nothing short of heavenly. Bosc pears remain firm and keep their classic shape during cooking. They also go well with spices and sauces because of their full-bodied flavour.

    Availability: September to January.
