BC Tree Fruits Partners with Okanagan Food & Wine Writers’ Workshop

On June 12th 2012 over twenty of Canada's most prestigious food reporters, authors, bloggers, and chefs gathered in Kelowna B.C. for a 3-day workshop.

BC Tree Fruits was proud to be one of the sponsors of this annual event. On June 14 th, 2012, BC Tree Fruits hosted an Apple Pancake Breakfast Buffet and provided a virtual orchard tour and round table discussion on the growing local movement of the food production industry.

Well known food industry heavyweights including Liane Faulder, Writer at the Edmonton Journal, Andrew Morrison, Editor of Scout Magazine, event organizer Jennifer Cockrall-King, Author of Food and the City: Urban Agriculture and the New Food Revolution, and Julie Van Rosendaal, Blogger and Host at CBC Calgary, were on hand to taste the BC produced Apple Cinnamon Cornmeal Pancakes with Fruit Syrups and Grilled Apples with Cheese.

Marketing Manager for BC Tree Fruits, Chris Pollock, and Orchardists and Senior Field Adviser Darcel and Hank Markgraf led the virtual tour and panel discussion during breakfast. BC Tree Fruits looks forward to continued support of the workshop.
