2011 marked B.C. Tree Fruits Limited’s (BCTF) 75th anniversary, a significant milestone for any organization. BCTF and the industry it serves have seen much change in the past, and the same is true in the present.
Commercial production of tree fruit began in the Okanagan Valley in the 1890s. In 1893 the Kelowna Shippers’ Union began marketing and selling fruit in the mining districts of British Columbia.
